2019 Rotary Foundation Scholarship Recipients

Each year, the Rotary Club of Tryon awards up to $25,000 in scholarships & awards to Polk County students graduating from high school.

The students submit a written application that is evaluated by the Scholarship Committee at Rotary Club of Tryon. Selected students are then invited to interview with the Rotarians serving on the Scholarship Selection Committee. When all of the interviews are complete, the Scholarship Committee has the daunting task of deciding which students should receive a scholarship.

This year, like every year, the Scholarship Committee had a very tough time choosing which of the students deserved a scholarship. Every student they interviewed was exceptional and demonstrated their commitment to the Rotary Motto of “Service Above Self”. After much discussion, 8 seniors from Polk County High School and 4 seniors from Polk County Early College were selected to receive a scholarship or award.
