Each year the Rotary Club of Tryon recognizes one of its members as the Rotarian of the Year. The criteria for the award is based on the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.” This year’s recipient is Bob Lair. Bob has a long record of community service to include volunteer work for Hospice, Habitat For Humanity, St Luke’s Hospital and for his work with veteran’s associations. As a Rotarian, he has been a Club President and served as an Assistant District Governor.
Ken Shull presented the Rotarian of the Year Award at the June 27th meeting which was greeted by a standing ovation from the Rotarians. Pictured on the left is Bob Lair accepting the award from Ken Shull.
