The Rotary Club of Tryon partnered with Unity in the Community of the Foothills to sponsor a college tour for students participating in the Summer Enrichment Camp.
Rotarians John Gargiulo and Doug Fowler joined the students on their trip to Winston-Salem State University and the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
“My goal for the students was to get them to see themselves walking on a college campus, be it a community college, a HBC, a state university or any institution of higher learning, as students one day,” Summer Enrichment Camp Director, John Paul McIntyre said. “Mission accomplished thanks to Unity in the Community, Fresh Start Tours, Dr. Fred Hartley and the Rotary Club of Tryon.”
The Rotary Club of Tryon received support for this project from the Rotary District 7670. Past President Fred Hartley and the Rotary Club of Tryon Board applied for and received a District grant to help fund this project.
