Michelle Fortune, CEO of St Luke’s Hospital was the guest speaker at the October 15 meeting of the Rotary Satellite Club of Tryon – TE. During a meeting where the entire Tryon Estates community was invited, Michelle provided an overview of the 90 year history of our locally owned community hospital and the wide scope of programs and services available. In an era when the small independent non-profit rural hospitals are struggling to survive across America, Polk County is blessed.
St Luke’s Hospital’s status is healthy and it continues to provide a wide range of expanding medical services in a caring, highly personal and professional manner to the citizens of the foothills. With it’s clear forward looking vision, it should continue to be the hospital and health care provider for the local population for the next 90 years or so.
