Will Barclift – Tryon Arts & Crafts School

The Rotary Club of Tryon was very excited to hear from Will Barclift, Executive Director of the Tryon Arts & Crafts School (TACS), at a recent meeting. Even though the School is just across the street from the Rotary meetings, it has taken a few years for Will to break away from his exciting work to meet with the Club. Rotarian Jamie Carpenter was finally able to bring Will to the Club so he could share many of the exciting things happening at TACS.

During his presentation, Will shared how community members could take part in the Schools’ programs in: metal and wood work, pottery, blacksmithing, jewelry, weaving and many other interests. During his short tenure at the School, Will has fostered a number of changes to make the facility more inviting to the public and a better venue for exhibiting the work of the students.
