Club Exceeded Donation Goal to the Rotary Foundation

The Rotary Club of Tryon supports the charitable work of Rotary International through contributions to the Rotary Foundation. Each year the Rotary Foundation provides financial support for programs that meet their areas of focus:

  • Peace and conflict prevention/resolution.
  • Disease prevention and treatment.
  • Water and sanitation.
  • Maternal and child health.
  • Basic education and literacy
  • Economic and community development

The Rotary Club of Tryon President and Board set annual goals for the Club’s donations to the Rotary Foundation. For the 2019-2020 Rotary Year, the goals included $2,500 to the Rotary Foundation Annual Fund and $3,000 to Polio Plus for a total donation goal of $5,500. The Polio Plus program provides financial support to the eradication of Polio around the world.

As Stacey Lindsay ended her year as the Rotary Club of Tryon President, she could feel very proud of what she had accomplished. Along with leading the Club through the transition to online meeting during the Covid-19 pandemic, she also helped the club exceed their donation goals.

The Rotary Club of Tryon members donated $7,437 to the Rotary Foundation Annual Fund and $4,800 to Polio Plus for a total donation of $12,237. The donation exceeded the Club’s goal by almost $7,000.

Through these donations, the Rotary Club of Tryon showed they are people of action even when they can’t get together each week.

The Rotary Club of Tryon meets Thursday at noon. If you are interested in joining the Club, please contact President Stacey Lindsay at: 864-360-6170 or staceylindsay14@gmail.com
