17th Annual Rotary Shrimpfest

Saturday, September 17th 2016.

Over 300 people enjoyed the pleasant weather, great boiled shrimp and grilled brats with all the fixin’s and many homemade desserts at the 17th Annual Rotary Shrimpfest.  Of course the beer (and wine) wagon was also popular.  We had a DJ for the first time and six live auction items — including a week at Harbor Island, SC thanks to Susan and Tom McHugh who donated their three bedroom ocean front condo for the event for the second year in a row.  More than $15,000 is usually netted for the Rotary Club of Tryon Foundation to help with the $60,000+ in grants and awards made each year to local and international charities.

Shrimpfest 2015 was successful.  Foothills area residents enjoyed huge boiled shrimp and grilled brats with all the fixin’s.  Many different delicious desserts were enjoyed and several participated in  dancing to the live four piece band.  An estimated $18,000 was raised in this 16th Annual Shrimpfest.

last year over 300 people enjoyed the food, beverages, music and fellowship which is a 17 year annual tradition in our Foothills Area.
