“Supporting our Youth”


  • Organize and encourage the Interact Club at Polk County High School.
  • Facilitate regular student visits of the Interact Clubs to meetings of the Rotary Club of Tryon.
  • Promote among students an identity with Rotary and an appreciation of the benefits it can bring.
  • Arrange with Interact Teacher to select candidates for Leadership Camp at Brevard, NC in June each year (RYLA — Rotary Youth Leadership Award).
  • Two to four students sent to RYLA each year from either Polk County High School and/or home schooled and charter schools.



  • Select qualified students and families from Polk County and vicinity for summer youth exchange with the Pirmasens Rotary Club.
  • Ensure proper application and documentation by student and family to comply with Rotary District 7670 requirements
  • Coordinate with Pirmasens Rotary to locate compatible Student / family to participate in the exchange.



  • Publicize at PCHS and at Charter Schools the availability of Rotary scholarships.
  • Interview all student applicants and choose the most promising candidates for scholarship assistance.
  • Arrange for timely financial payments from the Rotary Club of Tryon Foundation to chosen applicants during their student careers.


NOTE – These scholarship awards are offered each year:
