Caitlin Britton – Scholarship Update

The Rotary Club of Tryon had a special visit from Caitlin Britton this week.  Caitlin is a 2016 graduate of Polk County High School and will be a Junior at Western Carolina University in the Fall.  During her senior year in high school, Caitlin received a Rotary Club of Tryon Foundation Scholarship to help her with college expenses.

During the meeting, Caitlin thanked the Rotary Club for the financial support they are providing to her.  The money is very useful as she continues her studies at WCU where she is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Education.  Caitlin plans to be an elementary school counselor after graduation.  The Club was excited to see the scholarship being used by such a energetic young lady.  Caitlin’s father, Chuck Britton also attended the meeting.

The Rotary Club of Tryon provides over $30,000 worth of scholarships each year to deserving students in our area.  Applications for the 2019 Scholarships will be available on the Rotary Club of Tryon website early next year.

The Rotary Club is always interested in hearing how past scholarship recipients are doing.  If you received a Rotary Scholarship and would like to update the club, please contact Fred Hartley at: 423-341-4965 or hartleyfred46@gmail.com
