In a ceremony at the May 30th meeting of the Rotary Club of Tryon, Dave Rice was inducted into the Second Wind Hall of Fame. Since his retirement and relocation to Tryon in 1992, Dave has been active in a variety of community organizations.
He served 6 years as a Deacon at the Congregational Church; participated in Habitat for Humanity for 10 years; served on the Lanier Library Board for 6 years; served on the Pacolet Area Conservancy Board for 15 years; delivered meals on wheels for 5 years; and has been an active member of the local Rotary Club. In 2008 he received the Governor?s award for Polk County Volunteer of the Year. Barbara Smith representing the Second Wind Hall of Fame made the presentation.
