District Governor – Isaac Owolabi

At the October 4th meeting of the Rotary Club of Tryon, District Governor Isaac B. Owolabi made an official visit to the club and was the guest speaker.? As District Governor of Rotary International District 7670, Owolabi has oversight of the 48 Rotary Clubs throughout Western North Carolina with a total membership of over 2200 Rotarians.? In his presentation, Owolabi spoke of the Rotary theme for 2018: ?Be The Inspiration.?? He spoke with great enthusiasm about the important work of Rotary in making the world a better place.? He said that Rotarians are very proud of the progress of Rotary?s Polio Plus program which aims to eradicate polio from existence.? In 1988,when Rotary began Polio Plus, there were an estimated 350,000 people paralyzed by the polio virus throughout the world.? Last year, there were only 20 reported cases of polio.? Rotary is committed to its fight against the dreaded disease until there are no reported cases for three years.?


District Governor Isaac B. Owolabi accepts a $500 check from Club President Fred Hartley

In welcoming the District Governor, Club President Fred Hartley presented him a check in the amount of $500 to go to the Polio Plus Campaign.
