Rotarian Bill Hillhouse was recently recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow for his significant donations to the Rotary Foundation.
The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Rotary Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects.
Before retiring, Bill had 40 year career with Duke Energy. Craig DeBrew, Community Relations District Manager for Duke Energy, recently visited the Rotary Club of Tryon to provide a corporate match to Bill’s Rotary Foundation donation. Duke Energy provides a 100% match to charitable donations made by employees and retirees.
In recognition of Duke Energy’s commitment to Rotary, the Rotary Club of Tryon present Craig with Certificate of Appreciation. In addition to supporting the work of the Rotary Foundation, Duke Energy has been a supporting sponsor of the Shrimpfest each year. Duke Energy and Craig DeBrew have been wonderful partners and friends to the Rotary Club of Tryon.
