At the May 2nd meeting of the Rotary Club of Tryon, the Rotarians were entertained by a highly spirited and enthusiastic presentation about the importance of exercise by Katherine Jeter. Jeter, after successful treatment of cancer, turned her focus on exercise and set a goal to bicycle 70 miles on her 70th birthday.
After this achievement, she set further exercise goals to continue her focus on health of which one was to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro which she did. In connection with these activities, she recruited contributors to raise money for various charities. The program was arranged by Rotarian Larry Poe.
