On December 12th, the Rotary Club of Tryon held its Annual Christmas luncheon at Holy Cross Episcopal Church. The Rotarians and guests were treated to a medley of Christmas songs by the Polk County High School Chorus and a delicious meal prepared by the Rural Seed Restaurant.
The luncheon provided an opportunity to present two Paul Harris Fellow Awards. The award is named in the honor of the founder of Rotary International and recognizes generous financial support for the work of the Rotary Foundation.
The first award was to Joanna Wilson made possible by her husband, Don, who chose to honor her with the award.
The second award was presented to Nicole Morris. Her husband Captain Andrew Morris (a member of the Rotary Club of Tryon) is on active duty in Kuwait serving our country and leading a company of soldiers. The club sponsored Nicole?s award and in making the presentation noted her challenging job of being a mother to three children while working and waiting for the safe return of Andrew.
