Steps to Hope During Covid Pandemic

The Rotary Club of Tryon has continued to meet during the Covid Pandemic by taking their meetings online. Last week the Club was pleased to have Steps to Hope Executive Director BJ Bayne as our guest speaker.

BJ had just presented to the Rotary Club back in March but much has changed since her last visit. During her presentation BJ discussed the strategies Steps to Hope implemented to keep their clients safe in the shelter. Since mid March, Steps to Hope has been at capacity in their Columbus shelter.

Along with the work in the shelter, Steps to Hope has also been providing counseling services to their clients. In this time when most of us are confined to our home, it is important that Steps to Hope continues to provide support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

The stay at home order for North Carolina has made it difficult for Steps to Hope and many other organizations to continue their fundraising efforts. If you are interested in supporting the work of Steps to Hope, please visit their website to make a donation.

The Rotary Club of Tryon meets Thursday at noon. If you are interested in joining the Club, please contact President Stacey Lindsay at: 864-360-6170 or
