At the May 30th meeting of the Rotary Club of Tryon Walter Dalton, President of Isothermal Community College, was the guest speaker. Prior to becoming the fifth president of Isothermal Community College, President Dalton served six terms in the North Carolina State Senate and was the 33rd Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina. During his career, he has been a strong advocate for education.
President Dalton spoke to the Rotarians about how North Carolina?s economy has evolved in recent years and the important role of the State?s Community Colleges to insure there is a well trained workforce to meet employment opportunities in the future.
